Going back to Ebay you can use your about me page and include a link back to your website, and every auction winners email that you send include your url to your site.

also, get links from relevant sites with high natural rankings back to yours. You can check a websites google ranking with the google toolbar.

You can also post in forums with a signature with your website. Submit articles with links back to your site. Create a free blog at https://www.blogger.com/start.

Use http://www.google.com/alerts to watch for immediate conversations on your niches and pop into social media sites http://www.squidoo.com/ and get into conversations mentioning links back to your site.
